Feature: “Music business is how much you are making not how frequent you travel abroad” The Glass of advice from Wale- Gideon Ofori writes

Gone are the days we do music for empty fame but not anymore.

Any modern musician should know the essence of venturing music, knowing that it’s no more just for entertainment but Showbiz.

Music has become the most lucrative business the modern system has embraced and it’s practitioners should be equipped with all needful knowledge of pursuing such venture.

I don’t mean to lecture anyone but to dwell on a statement from Shatta Wale “The business is how much you are making not how frequent you travel abroad”.

The above statement was made by Shatta Wale when he was hosted on Metro Tv’s  “Good Evening Ghana”personality chat show with Adom Kyei Mensah.

Discussing music business, Wale made it loud that, he charges Ghc300,000 per show and anything less will have him back off.

He made it known that, he don’t fancy traveling around in the name of playing shows without making money even thiugh that has been the dream of some Ghanaian artistes hence they grow old and poor.

As an Entertainment/Showbiz enthusiast, I think Shatta Wale has gotten to a level in his career where every upcoming artiste who wants to excel should seek counsel from him in regards to music business.

Today’s artistes after a one succesful hit song will fall for every promoter with the aid of  travelling abroad and to play free shows.

Their motivation has been that of sitting in a plane and taking pictures and be pampered as superstars but in reality very poor.

Before you travel as an artiste for a show, know your worth. Don’t settle for less, accept the transition period of the music industry and obey it’s sequence.

Being hyped as a superstar will not put money in your pocket but  creates a false perception about you in order to push you to live a fake life.

The business is how much you make in your pocket not how frequent you travel abroad.

  2. Long time reader, first time commenter —
so, thought I’d drop a comment.. — and at the same time
    ask for a favor.

Your wordpress site is very simplistic – hope you don’t mind me asking what theme you’re using?
(and don’t mind if I steal it? :P)

I just launched my small businesses site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!)
the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching
for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback)

Keep up the good work– and take care of yourself during the coronavirus scare!
